TNJSF Signature Types and Associated Roles

If you are wondering what role you should choose when setting up your TNJSF membership, the table below defines which roles are accepted for each type of signature required on student forms:

IACUC Chairperson	mentor teacher coord
IRB educator	mentor teacher coord parent
IRB mental health professional	mentor teacher coord parent
IRB school administrator	mentor teacher coord parent
Mentor or Designated Supervisor	mentor teacher coord parent
Parent	parent
Qualified Scientist	mentor teacher coord parent
Student	student
Teacher or Sponsor	teacher coord mentor

Note, in addition, that a parent of a student or the mentor on a project should not be a member of the IRB reviewing a given project.
